In his time, Gene Hill was one of the most popular writers for F&S. His column, “Hill Country,” was a true reader favorite. Known to his friends as “Hilly,” and not Gene, Hill enjoyed doing just about everything outside: fly fishing, grouse hunting, duck hunting, Lab training, and big-game hunting.
